EUR/USD jumps to 1-week highs at 1.2770

FXStreet (San Francisco) - The EUR/USD woke up suddenly after levitating around 1.2735 throughout the session as the pair rose 35 pips in a matter of minutes to break above yesterday's high and achieve the highest levels in 1 week around 1.2770.

Currently, EUR/USD is trading at 1.2765, up 0.20% on the day, having posted a daily high at 1.2770 and low at 1.2723. The hourly FXStreet OB/OS Index is showing neutral conditions, alongside the FXStreet Trend Index which is slightly bullish.

EUR/USD sentiment

"Things today will be purely data dependent," Valeria Bednarik from FXStreet comments. "With a disappointing decision for the FED probably sending the pair up to 1.2790 and above, and a hawkish Central Bank favoring dollar gains towards 1.2660 price zone."

With a successful break above 1.2770, the EUR/USD will find next resistances at 1.2780 and 1.2800. To the downside, supports are at 1.2720, 1.2705 and 1.2680.

Ten-year yields hit 2.31%

The Ten-year treasury yields rose to a day’s high of 2.31% ahead of the Federal Reserve (Fed) policy outcome tracking the gains in the stock markets.
