Greece economy minister says new proposals have broken the deadlock - BBC

FXStreet (Córdoba) - Greece's economy minister, Giorgos Stathakis, has told the BBC that he believes Greek new proposals have broken the deadlock with creditors.

Stathakis says he expects the Eurozone will issue a government-level communique to state that outline of a deal is agreed, with the communique now subject to technical work.

He was hopeful Greece could reach a deal with creditors that will unlock €7.2 billion of the current bailout programme and avoid a Greek default.

According to BBC, new proposals include, a new tax on businesses, a new tax on the wealthy and some increases in the VAT rate on selected items. But he said there would be no further reductions in pensions or public sector wages and there would be no increase in VAT on electricity.
