NZD/USD higher on hawkish RBNZ

FXstreet.com (London) - NZD/USD is higher on a hawkish RBNZ announcement, while rates were left on hold, rates will need to rise to 2.25% over the next two and a quarter years and are serious abut containing inflation.

While the bird was one of the worst peformers over night, the pair are considerably higher from the 0.82 handle rising to 0.8288 on the RBNZ.

NZD/USD Levels

The 20 DMA is 0.8239, the 50 DMA is 0.8296 and the 200 DMA is 0.8165. RSI (14) reads 62.04. Supports are 0.8177, 0.8200 and 0.8250. Spot is 0.8264 with resistances at 0.8283, 0.8336, 0.8368, 0.8397 and 0.8415.

No changes in 2.5% RBNZ rate but hints for possible hikes

The Reserve Bank of New Zealand decided to leave unchanged its official cash rate at 2.5% according to a recent press release published by the bank.
