Japan's Motegi: US-Japan trade deal to be signed on Wednesday

Trade negotiations with the US have ended on a positive note and President Trump and Prime Minister Abe are expected to sign a trade deal on Wednesday, Japan's Foreign Minister Motegi said on Monday. 

Negotiations had reportedly hit a last-minute snag as Japanese officials sought assurances that the Trump administration will not impose national security tariffs on Japanese-built cars and auto parts.
